Rep. Stephanie Bice Tours Congressional District with Democratic Colleague
Rep. Stephanie Bice, R-Oklahoma City, gave a tour of her congressional district on Monday to Rep. Sara Jacobs, D-California, as part of the American Congressional Exchange Program sponsored by the Bipartisan Policy Center.
Bice toured Jacobs’ San Diego-area district last year. The two lawmakers serve together on the House Armed Services Committee.
The tour of the 5th District included a visit to Tinker Air Force Base, the Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum, the Oklahoma City Boathouse District, the First Americans Museum, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Air Training Center, and defense contractor Kratos, which is based in San Diego and has an Oklahoma City office.
John Richter, co-director of the exchange program, said, “This trip exemplifies what the ACE program is all about. The people of Oklahoma City — from the First Americans Museum and Oklahoma City Memorial and Museum to Tinker Air Force Base and Customs and Border Protections — have been welcoming, and all had tremendous insights into the real-world impacts of federal policy.
“Congresswomen Bice and Jacobs have now visited each other’s districts, learned more about each other’s constituents, and identified more issues to tackle together back in Washington.”
